Of "Beauty" Shopping and Reminder from God...

I know, I know, it's such a weird title, hahaha... But you'll see why I put that title ;p

So here's the thing. Life's been a little stressful as of late. It probably contributes to my rising level of interest in beauty and skincare products. I mean, when I feel tired, of course I'd want to relax myself a bit and give myself more 'attention', so to speak.

For the past three days, there has been a drama involving a cute, adorable cat (will probably write a separate entry about it once the problem finds some light). Anyways it's a little draining to me. Today, I felt kind of really tired and decided to go to a nearby supermarket and probably buy some affordable drugstore skincare products.

I ended up with these:

  1. Citra Night Whitening hand and body lotion - smells nice, haven't tried this though. Will do right before bed tonight :D
  2. Citra Pearly White UV Nutri-Serum 3D Glow - I think it's actually a body lotion, just with serum added. Supposedly we use this twice a day after bath. I did try this after a good long bath with a body scrub. It has a ice scent and got absorbed by the skin quite fast. The floral scent lingers after one hour of using it too. My skin feels moist and soft now. Will probably write on this after regular use and see if it's good for me :)
  3. Olay Natural White Rich Day Lotion - bought this just because I need some kind of cream to moisturize my face. Just tried it tonight, too. It did moisturize my face fairly well. My skin feels soft and supple up to now (one hour after using). Dunno about the whitening though, won't expect much from a drugstore product.
Anyways. So, at that very same supermarket, I met with this volunteer from UNICEF. From the first time she greeted me, i already thought, 'Ah. This is probably a sign for me to not spend my money only on 'useless' things like makeup and skincare products. And other unimportant things I sometimes tend to buy on a whim.

Long story short, I agreed to participate in their long-term donation program. UNICEF Indonesia is focusing on helping Indonesian children, especially those in remote areas, to get basic healthcare and education.

The monthly donation plan is something I can afford, so I thought, why not? It's using auto-debet system from my credit card, so it's very practical. When helping people is made easy for you, no reason to not join, right? :)

Anyways if you are interested in donating in this program and you live in Jakarta, go visit them at Plasa Senayan. Alternatively, you can visit them on:

Sharing is caring! And you have to admit it feels good when you can do good things for other people, right? :)
That's all for today. Cheers!
